    Norton's stance on schools is ... ????

OK, so, Luntsford said that Norton is interested in a new school to serve Wise and Norton, and that other combinations of schools could be considered.

Then McCall said "he completely misstated the city?s position on consolidation.?

So, anyone know what it is? Is Norton not interested, period?
Can't say I would blame them if that's the case.

From my understanding, they do not support anything in that plan Luntsford/Rivers talked about. That's just going on what they said in the paper about it and I asked a member from Norton in power myself(not mentioning names) the day after and they said it was the first they had even heard of the plan and said it was a joke.

OK, so Norton now says they'll cosnsider anything 'that offers Norton’s kids something better than they have now'.
One problem with that... the county has to figure out what the H they're doing!

To stay the hell out of the mess, there was a reason we left county schools in the 1950's. The Co has always let us access vo-tec for our students and have tried to hold that over our heads to join, but as a graduate, life long resident I don't say ours is best but believe we don't join as we don't benefit in any plan.
You have the mess of our teachers going with the Co who stays and goes all that, plus how much of our debt do they take on etc! And i don't see us doing away with city status and going back to Co for a 15 yr savings I wont vote for it. They dont even have a legitimate plan, get serious about 3 schools and i might come on board.
